Chris Parks
Vision3 Company Director/Stereo Supervisor

With both technical and creative stereoscopic experience spanning over 20 years, Chris' skills encompass the full range of 3D expertise including direction, production, specialist film and special visual effects, from storyboarding through production to post production and delivery. Chris started his career in 3D working alongside his father as stereographer and creative director at Image Quest 3-D, one of the UK's first 3D production specialists. Chris recently completed the highly ambitious 'Gravity' for Warner Brothers. Opening the Venice Film Festival in 2013 - the film has received near universal praise for it's use of the 3D's close relationship with the narrative. In 2014 - Chris' work on 'Gravity' received the prestigious 'Best Stereography' award from the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society.

Dr. Ralf Schäfer
Head of the Image Processing Department of Fraunhofer HHI
Ralf Schäfer received his Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees both in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin. Since 1989 he is head of the Image Processing Department of the Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) in Berlin, where he is responsible for about 75 researchers and technicians. His R&D interests cover all areas around images and video, from capture to display and from algorithms to silicon. Ralf Schäfer is member of the German "Society for Information Technology" (ITG), where he is chairman of the experts group "Digital Coding". Furthermore he is member of the German "Society for Television and Motion Picture Technology" (FKTG), where he belongs to the URTEL Award Committee. In 1986 he received the paper award of the ITG and in 2000 the Richard Theile Medal of the FKTG.
Phil Streather
CEO and Stereo Supervisor of Principal Large Format

Phil Streather, CEO of Principal Large Format (www.plf.cc), which he founded in 1998, is one of the UK's leading 3D exponents. As well as being an active producer (creator and producer of the multi award wining IMAX 3D film Bugs!, co-producer for Merlin Entertainments' London Eye 4D Experience, producer of Carmen in 3D and Madam Butterfly 3D for RealD and the Royal Opera House, co-producer with OSF of Meerkats 3D for National Geographic and Sky 3D) Phil is also passionate about 3D training.

Dr. Sebastian Knorr
Founder & Managing Director of imcube labs

Sebastian Knorr is founder and managing director of imcube labs GmbH and 3D conversion supervisor of imcube 3D Solutions. Between 2002 and 2009 he worked as senior researcher in the field of 3D image processing and computer vision in the Communication Systems Group at Technical University of Berlin, Germany. In 2007 Dr. Knorr invented the process of automatic 2D to 3D image conversion with highly advanced computer vision technology. He received the Dr.-Ing. degree (Ph.D.) with highest honors in 2008, respectively. Dr. Knorr is a member of the IEEE, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the German Society of Television- and Cinema Technology (FKTG). In 2012 he received the Scott Helt Memorial Award for the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting in 2011.

 

David Rivero
3D Mistika Specialist

David Rivero´s role as Mistika and post production specialist is built on a wide range of position experiences within the field in the last 6 years, starting as editor, and becoming quickly an efficient VFX artist and 3D animator, and eventually getting to a central position in finishing systems such as Mistika, becoming a workflow core easily integrable with any kind of team and project. He´s also an experienced partner with SGO; managing clients, new products´ features and testing.

Sönke Kirchhof
Founder, Producer and Stereographer of reallifefilm international GmbH

Sönke Kirchhof works as producer, stereographer and consultant. He is also a sought-after instructor for workshops and lectures at universities and private academies. In 2006 he founded reallifefilm international GmbH (rlf int), a Company highly specialized in research and development as well as stereoscopic (S3D) filmmaking from development to postproduction. With his expertise, he is involved in all kinds of S3D Projects, from Live Broadcast to Feature Film Projects.

Angus Cameron
Vision3 Founding Partner & Post Stereographer

Angus is co-founder and Post Stereographer for Vision3, having set up the company with Chris Parks in 2008. With over 20 years industry experience in Visual Effects and Stereography he has worked on over 60 projects in features, broadcast and commercials. His wealth of international experience has seen him supervise projects in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Angus has worked on both native stereo and post conversion films including one of the earliest conversion tests on 'King Kong' for Peter Jackson. More recently he has supported Cinesite on the conversions for 'John Carter' (Disney) and 'WWZ' (Paramount) and is currently co-supervising the conversion of 'Edge of Tomorrow' for Warner Brothers.

Dr. Fu Wang
Secretary General of Stereoscopic 3D Professional Committee of China Television Artists Association

Dr. Fu Wang graduated from the Renmin University where he studied journalism. He is a professor of the TV and Journalism School of the Communication University of China and the Secretary General of the Stereoscopic 3D Professional Committee of China Television Artists Association. Furthermore, he is the Deputy Director of the Stereoscopic Imaging Center of the Communication University of China. Dr. Wang worked for Xinhua News Agency, China Daily and CCTV on news report and theoretical research. He was former Research Director of CCTV, Deputy Editor of "Television Studies". and the Deputy Director of China Radio and Television Audiovisual Archive. He has published papers like "The Current Situation of 3D TV Development in China, the Plight and Counter measures", "New Era of Three-dimensional Images" as well as Academic Monographs like" Visual Communication", "Television Production Management", etc.

Yulu Wang
3D Specialist of 3D Council CTAA

Yulu Wang graduated from Central Drama Academy in Peking Film and Television Production Management Department, and then studied in Germany. He has worked for CCTV. In 2012, the China Television Artists Association Stereoscopic 3D Professional Committee was established. Yulu started to work for the 3D Committee since then. He has always been dedicated to international cooperation on 3D and 3D global development and exploration for the last two years. As a marketing and public relations expert in the field of 3D, he makes Chinese 3D industry get closer to the rest of the world. In 2013, he represented the Chinese 3D industry and made a speech about the Chinese 3D industry on the Belgium professional conference of Stereo MEDIA where he gained very high reputation. In 2014, he will continue his international work and will support to improve and develop the Chinese 3D industry.

Prof. Yongtian Wang
Professor of Optics and Applied Computer Science at the Beijing Institute of Technology

Yongtian Wang received his B.Sc. degree in precision instrumentation from Tianjin University, China, in 1982, and his Ph.D. degree in optics from the University of Reading, England, in 1986. He is currently a professor of optics and applied computer science in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), and a Chang Jiang Scholar appointed by the Chinese Ministry of Education. He serves as the head of BIT's Faculty of Information and Electronics Sciences, and the director of Beijing Engineering Research Center of Mixed Reality and Advanced Display. His research interests include optical design and CAD, optical instrumentation, 3D display, image processing, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies and applications. Dr. Wang is a Fellow of SPIE, a Fellow of IET and a director of the Chinese Optics Society. He is the leader of the expert group on virtual reality and multimedia for the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (the 863 program). He is also a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Miguel Angel Doncel
Founder and CEO of SGO

Miguel graduated in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Specializing in the application of information technology in the audiovisual sector, he has worked in development, counseling and consulting for 20 years, collaborating in defining solutions and implementing workflows for companies such as SKY, Molinare, BTV, Videomedia, DGT, and TV3.
Miguel currently heads SGO, the Spanish audiovisual company, developing software for film, advertising and television. Mistika is SGO's standout product as a leader in finishing and stereoscopic postproduction.

Florian Maier
Founder and CEO of Stereotec

Florian Maier, founder and CEO of Stereotec, has been pioneering 3D globally since the company's inception in 1997. Florian belongs to the most renowned stereographers worldwide and has been recognized by Hollywood's International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society with six Lumiere Awards across the following categories: Best Stereography, Best 3D Feature Film, and Best Commercial.
As the developer behind Stereotec's 3D rigs, Florian has also leant his unique expertise to feature films such as RETURN OF VIY, HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS, VICKY AND THE TREASURE OF THE GODS, and HYPE NATION, among others. Other projects include collaborations with VOLKSWAGEN, SONY, and RED BULL that have resulted in award winning, visually compelling commercials. Short films on which he's worked as the lead stereographer include the award winning BLOOD DROP and CALL HER LOTTE.

 

Kai Liang
VP Asia Business Development of Dimenco

Kai Liang graduated from Bristol University with a Computer Sciences degree, since then served vital business units of the likes of Vodafone, TESCO, Deutsch  Bank and SinoPec as a Strategic Management Consultant. In 2007, he co-founded Coordinate Technology, a international Wi-Fi roaming start-up with contracts signed with all major international operators such has BT, FT, Telefonica, NTT and China Mobile etc...  He begins his involvement with glasses free 3D from 2009, and become Dimenco's exclusive China representative in 2011, eventually joined Dimenco as VP in charge of Asia Pacific Market in 2013.  Among his many endeavours, he is the leading factor to create the join effort between Leyard and Dimenco to produce the first Glasses-free 3D LED Video Wall in the World.  Marketing Glasses-free 3D product is a well known global challenge.  Perhaps his unique combination of corporate, entrepreneur and Golf skill has the surprise answer.


Roberto Rinaldi
3D Underwater Camera Operator & Cinematographer

 

Since younger age, Roberto Rinaldi wsdiving and shooting underwater. His career as underwater photojournalist started in 1986. In 1988 he was hired as an underwater photographer on board Jaques Yves Cousteau’s Calypso. In the mean time, he was more and more specialised in filming underwater. He shot for documentaries, but for fiction and advertise as well. He worked for directors such as Giuseppe Tornatore, Luc Jaquet, Gil Keibali, Stephane Begoin, Andy Byatt, Jaques Perrin, Alessandro D’Alatri, and many others. His movies were aired in the main television around the world.
In 2009, he got totally passionate by the idea of realizing underwater images in 3D. This is why he worked on an innovative project that as brought him to built a unique housing able to shoot in 3D. This new system was extremely successful: he was able to work for Amberjack Production, 3 x 52 minutes for Arte/3D net produced by St Thomas, a cinema movie called “Ouragan”, produced by Ouragan Film. Than, for an underwater movie, commissioned by the Italian ministry of Culture and Archaeology, a 52 minutes for Korean Monster TV, and a 52 minutes for German producer Tesche Dokumentar film. Today, this extremely performing system, is able to produce 4K contents in 3D.

 

Zhenyi Zhan
Production Supervisor and Software Developer for Stereoscopic Conversion at the China Film Group

Zhan Zhenyi is a production supervisor and software developer for stereoscopic conversion at the China Film Group. He has more than ten years of visual effects production and management experience. During this time, he has participated in dozens of movies VFX production such as "Warriors Of Heaven And Earth", "Wandering's eyes", "A World Without Thieves", "Confucius". After the conversion team was built up, he independently developed a conversion workflow and finished the conversion for "Police Story" and "Robocop".

 

John Dietz
Visual Effects Supervisor

John Dietz is a respected visual effects supervisor, producer and executive level manager. He has led teams in the USA, Australia, India and China on movies that range from studio blockbusters to micro budget independents. Throughout his career he has seized opportunities to implement new filmmaking technologies, always with the primary goal being to serve the creative vision of the Director without the complications of VFX getting in the way.
John worked in Wyoming with sculptor Robert Russin before beginning his career with Oscar winning studio Rhythm & Hues in Los Angeles, rising from lighting artist to VFX Supervisor on films such as Babe, Mouse Hunt, Green Mile and Hollow Man. Moving to Sol Design FX in Chicago John took up the dual position of Creative Director and Managing Director, building a thriving business and winning a Gold BDA for his direction of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers awards. In 2005 John joined Rising Sun Pictures, where he became the Senior VFX Supervisor, as well as time spent in the roles of Head of Production and VFX Producer.
